NOTIFICATION

In pursuance of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Act, 2016 (Central Act No.38 of 2016). The Compensatory Afforestation Fund Rule 2018, Dated 10.08.2018 and Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India Notifications S.O. 3967 (E), Dated 13.08.2018 and 4856 (E), Dated 14.09.2018, the Government of Telangana hereby establish the State Authority to be known as “the Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority” (herein after referred to as Telangana CAMPA), which shall be responsible for the management of the State Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) Fund and its utilization for the purpose of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund (CAF) Act, 2016.

The Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) shall consist of a Governing Body and shall be assisted by a Steering Committee and an Executive Committee.

Constitution of Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (Telangana CAMPA)

(1.1) The Governing body of the Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) shall consist of the following,namely:

(1.2) The State Government shall appoint an officer of the rank not below the rank of a Chief Conservator of Forests as the Chief Executive Officer of the Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) on deputation basis for a period not exceeding five years who shall be the Member- Secretary of the steering committee and the executive committee of the State Authority.

Powers And Functions Of Telangana Compensatory Afforestation FundManagement and Planning Authority (CAMPA)

(2.1)Governing Body:

a) The Governing body of a Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) shall—

 i) lay down the broad policy framework for the functioning of Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) within the overall framework notified by the Central Government on the recommendations of the National Authority;

 ii)review the working of the Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) from time to time.

b) The governing body of the Telangana Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) shall meet at least once in six months.
